Flipkart Ads Guide: How to Run Profitable Product Listing Ads

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

Flipkart Ads let you promote your listings in search results and product pages, paid per click. They are the fastest way to give new products visibility and to keep best sellers on top during sales.

Where ads appear

Sponsored products appear in search results, category browse pages and on other product pages, marked as ads. Shoppers interact with them like organic results, so listing quality still decides whether a click becomes an order.

Setting up a campaign

  • Open the advertising section in Seller Hub.
  • Choose products – start with listings that have good images, ratings and stock.
  • Set a daily budget and duration.
  • Choose automatic targeting to start, or add keywords where available.
  • Launch and let it gather data for at least a week before major changes.

Measuring results

Track ad spend, clicks, orders and ROI (revenue ÷ spend). Convert this into profit: an ROI that looks good may still lose money if the margin is thin. Calculate your break-even ROI from your margin per unit.

Optimising week by week

  • Increase budget on campaigns with profitable ROI that run out early.
  • Pause or reduce products with clicks but no orders, and fix their listings.
  • Group products with similar price and margin in the same campaign.
  • Use sale-event campaigns with higher budgets during Big Billion Days and other events.

When not to advertise

Do not advertise products that are low on stock, poorly rated, or priced well above competitors – the clicks will not convert. Fix the listing first.

Budget planning

Many sellers set ads as a percentage of revenue for each product and adjust by profitability. New launches deserve a temporary higher share; mature best sellers usually need less.

Calculating break-even ROI

If a product's profit before ads is ₹150 on a ₹600 sale, you can spend up to ₹150 in ads per order before losing money. Break-even ROI = revenue ÷ spend = 600 ÷ 150 = 4. Any campaign returning more than 4× ad spend is profitable for that product; less than 4× loses money unless you are deliberately buying rank or reviews for a launch.

Structuring campaigns

Group products by margin and price range so one campaign's budget is not consumed by a low-margin item. Keep launches separate from mature best sellers, as they need different budgets and expectations.

Reading ad reports

Look at views, clicks, click-through rate, orders, conversion and ROI per product. Low click-through means the main image or price is weak; good clicks but low conversion means the product page needs work. Fix those before increasing spend.

Ads during sale events

Competition and costs rise during big sales. Increase budgets for hero products that convert well, set them up in advance, and monitor several times a day so budgets do not run out early.
