Flipkart Pricing Strategy: Stay Competitive Without Losing Money

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

Flipkart shoppers compare prices quickly, and many products look similar in a search grid. Pricing needs to be competitive, but the real goal is profit after shipping, returns and ads.

Floor price first

Calculate the minimum price where each SKU breaks even after product cost, packaging, Flipkart fees, GST, returns and ads. Never price below it except for planned clearance.

Use the zero-commission advantage wisely

For fashion, zero commission increases margin at the same price. You can keep the margin, reinvest in ads, or lower prices slightly to win more orders – decide per product based on competition.

Value packs and combos

Combos (for example 3 t-shirts) increase order value and spread shipping cost. They also make direct price comparison harder for competitors.

Competitive checks

Each month, compare your top products with the five closest competitors on price, rating and delivery speed. If you are more expensive, make sure your listing shows why (better fabric, more reviews, faster delivery).

Sale pricing

Plan event prices in advance from your floor. Avoid deep discounts on products with weak ratings – they attract clicks but not conversions.

Testing prices properly

Change price by a small amount, keep everything else the same and watch orders and conversion for one to two weeks. Record each test. Many sellers discover their best products can carry a slightly higher price without losing orders.

Price consistency across marketplaces

Shoppers compare across apps. Large differences between your Flipkart, Amazon and Meesho prices can confuse buyers and affect how marketplaces treat your offers. Keep prices close and adjust for each platform's fees.

Clearance without damaging your brand

Move ageing stock through combos, limited-time offers or value platforms rather than permanent deep discounts on your main listings.

Using combos to protect margin

A combo of two or three related products raises order value and spreads shipping cost, so you can offer a better deal per unit while keeping margin healthy.

Frequently asked questions

Should I always be the cheapest?

No – being cheapest with poor margin is not sustainable. Compete on value, ratings and delivery as well.
