Size Charts and Fit Information for Myntra: A Practical Guide

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

Most fashion returns are about fit. A clear, accurate size chart is the cheapest return-reduction tool you have.

Garment vs body measurements

Garment measurements describe the product (chest width, length). Body measurements tell the shopper which size to choose. Providing both, clearly labelled, prevents confusion.

What to include

  • Chest/bust, waist, hip, length, sleeve, shoulder as relevant.
  • Measurements in inches and centimetres.
  • Fit type and stretch.
  • Model's height and size worn.

Kidswear

Use age ranges plus height and chest. Parents shop by age, but children vary – height guidance prevents returns.

Consistency

Keep sizing consistent across your styles. If one style runs differently, say so on that product.

How to measure garments consistently

Lay the garment flat, measure chest from armpit to armpit and double it, measure length from the highest shoulder point to the hem, and note sleeve and waist where relevant. Measure several pieces per size to check production consistency.

Communicating fit

Short fit notes help: "relaxed fit – size down for a closer fit", "stretch fabric – fits true to size". Mention model height and size in the product details.

Keeping charts up to date

When a factory or pattern changes, re-measure and update the chart. Old charts on new production are a common hidden source of returns.

Using return data to improve charts

If returns for a style say "too small" much more often than "too large", either adjust the chart, add a "size up" note, or fix the pattern. Track the effect over the following month.

Helping shoppers choose the right size

Add a simple "how to measure" image showing where to measure chest, waist and length on the body, and suggest comparing with a garment the shopper already owns. Mention the model's height and the size they wear on every style. When styles vary in fit, say so explicitly ("this style is cut slim – consider one size up"). These small additions answer the exact doubts that otherwise lead to ordering two sizes and returning one.

Size charts for different categories

  • Tops: chest, shoulder, length, sleeve.
  • Bottoms: waist, hip, inseam, length.
  • Dresses: bust, waist, length.
  • Footwear: foot length in cm.
  • Kids: age, height, chest, length.

Checklist

  • Measurements per style
  • Both units
  • Fit notes
  • Model details
  • Kids: age + height
